Windows XP- automatic reboot error

I recently upgraded from Windows ME to WIndows XP. Since installing Windows XP, I keep getting the following error message: "System shutdown initiated by NT authority system. Message: Windows must now restart because the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) services was terminated unexpectedly." It then starts a 60 second countdown, and then automatically reboots the computer. It only happens when I am connected to the internet

Can anyone help me figure out how to troubleshoot this problem

Thank you!!

Jennifer: I had the same problem. There is a RPC patch for McAfee Virus scan. The virus is Deloit-DcomRPC. Hope this helps.
