Windows XP and other Microsoft newsgroups in foreign languages

I just downloaded the Microsoft news groups into a new computer and have
found that I have to work my way through an array of foreign language news
groups to find what I want. Is there a way to eliminate the non-English news
groups for easier and quicker viewing?

In the newsreader of your choice - only subscribe to the newsgroups you wish
to.

Tom Koch's workaround does this. It was devised to avoid downloading the
whole newsgroup list. When it was devised the size of lists created
performance issues, which current systems can more easily handle.
