Harking back to the days of MS-DOS, it is not the set files or
buffers value that is creating the problem but more likely that
of utilizing available memory. The DOS box (or command prompt)
of Windows XP (and its predecessors, NT and 2000) handles memory
differently than the original MS-DOS, which shells out to Windows
9X. Create a separate icon fomr MSBasic and configure its memory
settings for using extended and/or expanded memory.
