Windows XP Additional features

Peter St Clair

I seem to have 'lost' several Windows XP features - specifically the 'FAX'
and 'GAMES' features.
I have tried to re-install them using the 'Add additional Windows
facilities' but it seems there are files missing as I get a message saying
that file xxxxx.yyy is missing and to load the SP3 CD or indicate another
location to find the file. (If I 'skip' the first file, there are many
others which generate the same message)
As I loaded SP3 using the direct Windows Update facility I don't have an SP3
CD. I have tried using the original Windows XP CD but this doesn't work.
How can I get Games and Fax loaded ?

Go back to MS to the catalogs and download the actual SP3 for your
computer. Burn it to a CD for future use and use it when it's asked
for.

Locate your i386 folder, and when asked, point there.

If you can't find it, download nLite and the full SP3 executable - not the
ISO - and create a new XP install CD with SP3 slipstreamed. When you are
asked for the SP3 disk, put this new disk in.
