Academic Versions of Windows XP are:
--- For noncommercial, educational use only.
--- For qualified educational users only.
--- Non-upgradeable to the next Windows O/S.
--- Non-transferable.
--- Has installation support only.
--- Has a non-perpetual license that is tied to the eligibility of the
user.
(If a user is no longer a student or educator, the license is no
longer valid)
Your right to use the Academic version of Windows XP ends when
you no longer meet the criteria for using the Academic version of XP.
Other than the above limitations, Windows XP Upgrade is the same.

| Does anyone know if there is any difference in the
| standard XP upgrade version and the Academic upgrade
| version other than price? I did find that they have two
| different part numbers, E85-00146 Acadamic version and E85-
| 01012 for the standard upgarde.
