Windows xp 64 trial download.

i signed up and am trying to download the trial version of windows xp 64-bit
edition, but every single time i try to download it..it stops mid download,
is this happening for anyone else?..

Response - just out of curiosity where did you sign up? and from where are
you trying to download the OS. This would be a "humongous" download and
without cable/DSL would take a week or so (tongue-in-cheek).

from the microsoft website. and its only 558MB..but ive never gottin past
80%..and ive only reached 80% once.

I got it from the microsoft website. and its only 558MB, but its always
stopped mid download. and its pissing me off.

That is a large file - Microsoft recommends a cable/DSL or fast download
means.
Usually such files are downloaded from Microsoft by first: downloading a
relatively
small "setup" file - which runs a registration procedure (sometimes) and
proceeds to
connect to the actual download site - the main advantage of this procedure
is that
if the download is interrupted it can be reinitiated at the point of
interruption.
However I don not know if this is the same procedure that has been applied
to your
attempts.
BTW - I have both 64 bit versions of Vista and XP - will not install if a 64
bit
processor is not available.

yes i just bought this computer, it is a 64 bit processor, but ive had it for
almost 2 weeks and i cand find an os aanywhere..and since i dont have the
300-400 dollars for an os..im screwed.

The trade price here for XP Pro 64 bit Windows is $149 so that is a hell of
a markup. In fact trade price here is exactly $1 more than 32 bit Windows.

Prices quoted are for an order quantity of 1 but excludes delivery
