Windows XP 64-bit

What is the status of Windows XP 64-bit? I am putting together a 64bit desktop machine. I was going to load WinXP 64-bit edition from my MSDN on it but then I read a article that referred to it as a beta. Is WinXP 64 RTM or a Beta?
