right....i thought we had spoken about this
a similar issue before and your attempt for
preemption is humorous at best.

frankly, your age or anyones age
for this matter is irrelevant to me

but if you are a "mvprofessional" please
provide your expertise to answer
the o.p.'s question so that we all can basque
in your infinite wisdom...

or could it be like before whereas you
don't know enough to respond to the
original question, but know enough
to interject with unhelpful verbage.

rhetorically, why would you or anyone else
wanna use this newsgroup for amusement, criticism
and insults?

frankly it gets tiresome when i waste my time on anyone other than the o.p.
and the question at hand. The games
are for children...

however, i am truly flattered about the attention i have
received for simply providing some assistance
to the o.p.

I would have liked to say that I look forward to your novel regarding the
original question, but I will flag this
conversation as read and a waste of my time since you and jupiter could not
provide the o.p. with a better
response to the concern.

polite....

but has no bearing on the original question
or the nature of my intent...

if anyone wants to gain my respect, they simply
have to provide to the best of their ability a
resonsiable answer with the intent to help and
be professional.

Anything else is not relevant.

As I said, I thought I was wasting my breath. But I gave it one more try. It
doesn't matter how many people say the same thing to you or how they say it,
you don't get it because you don't want to get it.

Your choice, of course. I'm done with this thread. Have it your own way.

thanks for concluding

while in safemode
make emergency repair disks,
since you may not have any now.
before burning/ejecting be
sure to copy over to them
these files from the hd

fixmbr
fixboot

store the above in a safe
place for a rainy day when the
pc no longer functions. Then
some additional options:

while in safe mode
open a command windows
and initiate: chkdsk /f

while in safe mode
open a command window
and initiate: fixmbr

[to open a command
windows run: cmd ]

Hi all,

I have Windows XP Pro but lately it has problems starting up.

When I open my computer, it shows a BIOS message then the Windows XP
splash
screen. But after a few seconds, my computer restarts. So then I tried
booting in Safe Mode and tried to use System Restore but it said
something
like, "System restore is unable to protect your computer. Please restart
and
try again." So I restarted and booted in Safe mode but it still said that
message when I opened System Restore.

Is there a solution where I can boot my normal Windows without the system
restarting on the splash screen?

You can't run fixmbr from a command prompt in safe mode. That's a recovery
console command. None of what you have posted to the OP makes any sense
with respect to his problem.

I echo Malke's sentiment and have asked you this before. Why do your
messages wrap the lines every couple of words? Standard is 72-76 characters
per line. If you want your messages to be taken seriously then make some
changes to how your post.
