i have just bought a p/c with free vista upgrade but cant find were to
download on vista site, it keeps quoting me prices for it, please direct me
to right place

Generally these free upgrades will be mailed out to the customer from the
system builder within 2-3 weeks of release. Some shorter, some longer,
depending on demand and quantities.

Check out your Computer manufacturers web page. For instance, you can
download the Vista upgrade for a Sony Vaio via the Sony website.
