Since you're using Outlook Express to read newsgroups, do the
following to see if your news server is carrying the Vista
newsgroups.

In Outlook Express, click on the Tools menu at the top of the
window.
Select Newsgroups from the menu that drops down. Note: You can
also hit the Ctrl + W keys.
This should open up "Newsgroups Subscriptions".
Hit the "Reset list" button to refresh the listing of
newsgroups.
Once the list is refreshed, enter vista in the "Display
newsgroups which contain" box.
Scroll down to where the newsgroups start off with
microsoft.public.windows.vista.
You can now subscribe to whatever Vista newsgroups you want.

If your news server is not yet carrying any of the Vista
newsgroups, click on the link below. This will setup the
Microsoft news server for you in Outlook Express. You can use
the same procedure outlined above to search for more Vista
newsgroups. Last I checked there were twelve available.

Good luck

You are using Outlook Express. Go look at the list of newsgroups (reset
to download the list again, if needed to make sure you are current) and
simpy enter "vista" in the textbox at the top to find any groups that
match having that string in their newsgroup name.

To save of bandwidth (to consume less) from your newsgroup server, you
can use Microsoft's free one at msnews.microsoft.com.

There are several Windows Vista newsgroups--all with names beginning
microsoft.public.windows.vista...--and Vista questions are better asked
there.

Fortunately none of them is named "help_and_support." That name is perhaps
the most widely misunderstood name in the entire history of newsgroups. Its
original intent--long overlooked and ignored--was for questions and answers
about the Windows XP help and support feature.

LOL... I've been using a pc for a l-o-n-g time, and I'm embarrassed to
admit I didn't know that! You are certainly right about "the most
widely misunderstood name"! :)
