I have a new Vista Laptop and am working creating a word document. When I
saved it onto my work network and tried to open it in the 2003 word, I get
junk? Is it poossible to read a document saved from a Vista computer on a
computer that has 2003 word?

When you save the document, click save as and pick the Word 2003 format.
The format used by Office 11 is not readable by Office 2003 unless saved in
the older format.

1. This has nothing to do with Vista vs. some other version of
Windows.

2. Almost certainly, it has to do with the different versions of Word
that's installed on the two computers.

3. Do you have Word 2007 on your Vista computer? By default, that
saves in the new .docx format which older versions of Word can't
natively read.

4. If that's correct, you have two choices

a. in Word 2007, instead of doing a Save, do a Save
as, and choose the old .doc extension.

b. download the compatibility pack for your work computer
