Hello,
I have been running Windows Vista for about a month now, and just recently I
have noticed Vista is running very slow. It takes approximately 5 minutes to
load, and once booted to the desktop all programs take awhile to open up. I
have reviewed numerous threads where the suggestions are to delete
unnecessary programs at startup, run virus/spyware scans, and many other
proposals. Unfortunately, none of these have worked.
I have noticed many errors that occur when I'm trying to open numerous
programs. I have copied the most recent three:
1. "Logon process has failed to create the security options dialog."
2. "C:/ProgramFiles\Norton360\SuppStub.exe : This operation returned
because the timeout period expired."
3. "Failure to open security options."
I do run Norton's 360 as my anti-virus program, and I have also noticed that
since these problems have begun, the "auto-protect" on my Norton's program
has been turned to "off," and I can't turn it back on.
Thank you for any assistance.
