Hello all, here is the problem.
I bought a new hp6110N with windows vista (32bit) home premium. The
computer works fine when booting up if the monitor is plugged into the
onboard vga slot.
I am trying to install a slightly older card (gforce 6600 pci-e) and here is
the problem. The card works, the pci slot seems to work, however the cpu
will not go past the "hp invent" blue screen which gives the options to go to
bios system restore ect.. it actually just finishes thinking on that screen,
then goes no further.
Steps ive tried: Going to the bios and selecing pci-16 slot as the primary
vid adapter -- no result
Downloading the forceware drivers off of nvidia's site and trying to install
them w/o the card in -- no result.
So what are some other steps i can try? I was really hoping the card would
be plug n play, but meh.
