Windows Vista Mail Font Size

Chuck---

Hi folks:

Simple problem (grrrrrr) -- > in Vista Mail, the numerical Font drop-down
"SIZES" do not change the text, yet the different available sizes do drop
down w/o taking effect.

The SIZE is frozen at '12'. Clicking on any other size does nothing, nada,
bupkus.

Headers 1,2,3, etc. DO work.

Yes, I highlight the area I want changed and the various Font types/kinds DO
change the text------- but I can't change the size.

DOH, Whazz up - anybody? Tis a puzzlement...:((
Thanks,
Chuck---

Folks ---
I changed 'Compose' settings (to compose a new message) which DID NOT cause
a change in Mail type size. Also, I tried with different Fonts.

The Mail size thingy: that suck'a is still stuck fast!
In 'MS Works' - it works fine,

I don't understand how your post responds to mine.

That setting is only for the benefit of the person composing a plain text
message, while it is being composed. When that message is sent, there
is no font information in it.

RE my above Quote : "I changed 'COMPOSE' setting (to compose a new
message)...
The phrase in parenthsis indicates that a message is 'new', ie, being
'composed' and most likely will be sent out.

I hope that answers your question, "Mail you're composing or mail you've
recieved?"

Nevertheless, my type SIZING feature is still forzen.

Are you using any stationery?

Frank
I never use stationary.

However, I did a test run with it. Neither did the Type Size change, nor
the mesage background (no flowers; no colors) , or no color at all when
Background/Color was clicked, revealing additional problem (s).

Noooooo, Widows Mail Ver 6.0.6000.
Giving up.
Looking at Windows Live Mail right now (or Thuderbird).

Thanks,
Chuck

By any chance are you running the IE8 beta? It causes
'frozen' font problems.

If not, have you thought about trying Windows Live Mail?

Windows Live Mail will import all your WM stuff.
Thunderbird won't.
You can always uninstall WLM if you don't like it.

Frank,
I was struggling with a similar problem (Create Mail was stuck on Ariel 12
Pt font).
Your question to Chuck, "Are you using Stationery?" triggered the solution.
I remove my selection of soft blue and now Create mail font and font size is
consistent with my selections under the compose tab like they were a month
ago. Looks Like selecting statinery overrides the font/font size selections
under compose.

Wonder what I need to do if I want both the soft blue background and the
Times New Roman Font size 12 Pt?

Thanks.

I'm not very good at stationery, but if you makes sure the stationery does
not specify the font size then then size called out in Tools | Options |
Compose should be used for HTML messages.
