Windows Vista extremely slow and unreliable after install

I've installed the 32-bit Windows Vista using DVD on a 20Gb partition on my
work laptop: a Toshiba Tecra M1 (Centrino 1.4 GHz, 512 Mb): no problem.
I've then tried to install it from the same source on a 20Gb partition on my
home laptop. The home laptop is a Packard Bell (NEC) EasyNote R3320 with AMD
Sempron 3000+, 1Gb+256Mb RAM and ATI Radeon Express 200M. Windows Vista did
install but then, after it reboots, graphical and system performance is
extremely slow. It literally takes 30 seconds between hitting a key and
seeing the letter appear on the screen. Windows Aero doesn't seem to work
either although the video card has 256Mb RAM allocated via the BIOS. Any
idea what the problem is?

This stage of beta, the OS performance is VERY different on different
platforms. So basicly as said updating your drivers is only option before
they get to stage of beta where code optimization starts. Send ticket about
it via beta program.
