Windows Vista E-Mail

I can receive e-mail, but not send email from windows mail see following error:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'test', Account: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Server:
'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Does your connection to that server cross over from one internet provider's
equipment to another's on the way to the server? It isn't clear if other
parts
of AT&T count as a different internet provider for this. Connections to
port 25 that go through such a crossover are often blocked to cause
trouble for spammers.

Click on Newsreader Setup, then Setup Instructions for Microsoft
Internet Explorer Newsreader. Even though these instructions
were written for Outlook Express, they will also work if you
follow the part at the bottom that applies to Windows Mail only.
(They hid the instructions well, didn't they?)
 
Thanks. I will research those links. note that I have verified settings with
live tech support from bellsouth and all settings correct according to them.

Two questions:
Which antivirus are you running?
Did you get that error while using a laptop away from home?
