Windows Vista b5600 Validation Issue

I am currently using a windows vista build 5600. Recently I have been getting
error messages that report I need to validate windows, and when I do it
fails. I am activated and have been since some time in september.

I have browsed the site and have found random information, but have failed
to put an exact fix together. If anyone knows what would cause this, the help
would be much appreciated.

Description of Problem:

When trying to run windows update, a window pops up saying that I need to
validate my copy of windows.

I have the same problem. It asks to validate, but fails for "unknown reasons"
