Validation problem after validating

A strange one....

I downloaded the Video Screensaver application from the MS web site,
part of which involved validating my Vista installation before I was
allowed to download which went without problem.

I then ran the video screensaver.msi installation program which wants
me to validate again. This time it opens IE7 and I get the message;

Validation is not currently supported for this version of Windows or
for this non-Microsoft operating system.
It appears that you are using an operating system that is not
currently supported by the validation process. Only the following
operating systems are currently supported:

Windows XP Home Edition
Windows XP Professional
Windows XP Starter Edition
Windows XP Media Center Edition
Windows XP Tablet PC Edition
Windows Vista

What the hell is going on???

One minute I pass validation so I can download the program and the
next I fail and can't install the program.

How can I install this?

I understand MS want to discourage piracy but I wish they'd get their
act together.

Are you trying to validate from Internet Explorer 7 64 bit? If so, try using
the 32 bit version of IE 7 instead.

Becoming genuine is becoming more and more complicated the more MS
weaves its evil web. Why should the OP need to try different things to
prove that she has a valid copy of Vista AGAIN?

And, please, if you're going to use a sig delimiter, bottom post.

I am using the 32 bit version.

This whole validation thing is ridiculous. If they must use it why not
make it work?

I validate to download and pass then it wants me to validater again to
install the program I just downloaded and I'm told I'm not even using
Vista.

What the hell is going on?

It's call Microsoft controlling your computer and Microsoft not caring
one whit about their paying customers, of course!

Tired of this crap? Check out Linux Ubuntu at www.ubuntu.com No
activation. No becoming "genuine". You can install it on as many
computers as you like. No need to worry about viruses or malware again.
It comes with access to over 23,000 programs. And, it's FREE. They will
even pay the postage to send you the CD.

The only Video Screensaver I've seen from MS works on XP only, not Vista
