Windows Update

I recently installed Windows 2000 on my IBM Aptiva PC. I
have tried to download the updates from Microsoft Windows
Update to no avail. I can scan and review for the
necessary update files but I cannot download them. I need
to download several update files. When I click on the
install button, nothing happens. Internet Explorer simply
stops at this point and I cannot go any further. I have
tried reducing the number of updates to download but I get
the same results. What am I doing wrong?

Turn off all firewalls, anti-virus and whatever "junk" filters you may have
in place. Try Windows Update again.

If no joy, try the troubleshooter:
