Hello, i've got a desktop with windows xp sp3. when i click the windows
update button, it goes to the MSN homepage. and whenever i go to the WU site
and click update it still goes to the MSN hmepage. my last update was on the
12th Nov 2008. what can i do? thank you in advance!

You've got a hijackware infection on your hands!

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use (in
conjuction with some other utilities). HijackThis will NOT fix anything on

check the hosts fiel in system root.

it should only have one host 127.0.0.1 open with note pad

path is usually

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

this may help
