Like MBSA?

Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) version 1.2.1 is
available http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320454

Or do you want something like Belarc Advisor?

You have to scan the system and compare it against what is available in
order to get the list. Windows XP doesn't know what it needs until you scan
and compare.

That is what MBSA does.

If you do not mind answering this - why is it you *need* this list?

Actually i need to get those informations to inject it back in a databse
about the state of our servers ... so theres no other way than using an
external tool to get those informations, no way to get that directly from
windows, in a system file, in the registry or something ?

Thx.

Julien.

I'll say it again for emphasis...

Your windows system has no idea what it needs until it scans for the updates
and compare that list against what it has installed. If you want a 'what's
installed' list - yes - your machine has that. If you want a 'what do i
need' list - that changes approximately once every 30 days and thus - a
complete list can only be gotten by scanning and comparing.

What you use to do this is up to you - most Windows Administrators that wish
to do this to more than one system and/or remotely will suggest MBSA.
