I think when I first got windows XP, I turned off the
windows update. Now I want to turn it back on, but I
forget how I did it. Can anyone help with my problem?

You will find the settings at Control Panel - System - Automatic Updates

Where? I can"t find it in mine (XP Pro).

Check in contol panel and you will find a icon for automatic update.
