Windows Update

From reading previous discussions in here, it looks like the only way to
perform Windows updates on an XPe computer, is using WSUS. This is only
available using Windows 2000 or 2003 server. What is the purpose of the
Windows Update agent as a component? Is this what is used with WSUS? How do I
update if I do not have a server based operating system?

Hi Gary,

Without including any server (or presumably any network transport mechanism)
you could use Device Update Agent on the local system and copy updates from
local media (USB, CD-Rom, etc....) to the device for application by the
update service.

Brad,

I am trying to find a bundled Windows updates since SP2 but only see
individual updates. Is there such a thing? If so, it sounds like I could run
them using the device update Agent as you suggested?

It is up to you to put the updates together. Unless there is something on
the OEM site that MS provides.

Alternatively, there is WEPOS, which supports Windows Update. WEPOS is based
on XPe, but it doesn't have the EEFs that XPe has.
