Windows Update

Everytime I go to windows update and click on either option.....(express or
custom)I get an error message saying that my activeX is no longer installed
or is not signed.I allow the pc to register,which it says 100%
complete......but it contuinues to do the same thing over and over.I cannot
get any updates at this point.I am getting virtual memory low errors and my
pc is running extremly slow.

Open internet options,settings,view objects,R.click on them one at a time,
select,update.
