Windows Update SP!

I have installed the windows update SP1 and now find that
I can`t open the attachments on my emails.

Has anybody had a similar problem or can someone advise
as to how I can restore the computer to the pre update
position without doing a full restore and consequently
having to reinstall all my extra programme files
