Windows Update Root Certificate Keeps Resinstalling

Guest

Hi All,

My computer gets it's updates from Windows Update. Recently the Root
Certificates Update keeps installing repeatedly. I've tried changing the
settings for Root Certificate Updates in Add/Remove programs, but it makes no
difference.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Thanks,
Ken

Download and install that update via this weblink. Note that there will
be no messages or confirmations during and after the installation.

Hi Detlev and thanks for your reply.

I installed the update from the link you provided then restarted the
computer, but Windows Update still wants to install this update repeatedly.
It's like the update is stuck in a queue someplace and doesn't get cleared.

Any further help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Ken

Well, I told you the next step already. Hint: Read the quoted text again.
When reposting to the appropriate group, tell them if there is any third-
party firewall (eg. ZoneAlarm) or any Norton/Symantec software installed.
Good luck.
