Unable to intall majority of windows updates for some
time. About 40 or so updates which have "failed" on
several attempts.

Currently getting the following errors:

For XP Service Pack 1 (Express) - Set up could not verify
the integrity of the file updates.inf. Service pack set
up error. Make sure Crptographic Service is running on
this computer(??? How do I do this!!!). I have
successfully updated the "fix" for this update but can't
install SP1.

On trying rest of updates - takes forever then
respond "The softare you are installing hasn not passed
Windows Logo testing to verify compatibility with Windows
XP (despite the update showing it is for Windows XP).
Therefore software will not be installed and contact
system administrator. Absolutely sick and tired of going
round the houses in the "Help and Support" which only
directs me back to "windows update". I have sent emails
but not received any reply.

HELP!!!!!!!

Hi,

Open Windows Explorer to C:\Windows\system32, right-click/rename the
catroot2 folder to catold. Then retry the SP1 installation. When finished,
there will be a new catroot2 folder and you can safely delete the old
renamed one.
