Windows Update Problems

I get this when I try to use Windows Update.

" Files required to use Windows Update are no longer registered or
installed on your computer. To continue:


Register or reinstall the files for me now (Recommended)
Let me read about more steps that might be required to solve the
problem"




I have Validated and used it previous to this week with no problem. I have
followed the first option with the same screen coming back up. The second
option offers no help at all. Some times I get this screen
