I have a Dell Webpc. It came with Win98 and integrated Dell
support software.
I recently tried Windows Update. It downloaded the latest
Windows update engine, but after the scan it said no
updates available. I know that's bogus (after no updates in
the last 2 yrs.
I upgraded WinXP Pro over Win98 successfully, and went to
Windows Update. Same thing, no updates available. Again
very bogus since I have performed the same operation with
the same WinXP disk on my home-built computer.
I put in the WinXP disk, and did the long FAT32 format on
the WebPC hard drive, and installed WinXP fresh. Still no
available updates on the Windows Update site.
Is there something in the BIOS/firmware keeping Windows
Update from doing the right thing?????
what's up.
thanks
