Windows Update error in Beta 2 (5384)

I have the "update available" notification (windows update icon) in my
systray. I double click it and it goes to the Windows Update Control Panel.
When I select "Check for Updates" it says "Windows could not search for new
updates" and gives me an error code of 8007000D.

This happens on my x64 test machine as well as a colleagues x86 test
machine. Is it supposed to be working right now? If so how do I fix it.

The machine is on the internet. It's even working on my company's domain and
working perfectly that error notwithstanding.

IE is not in Offline mode because I've been to several websites over the two
days I've had it installed.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Ok, I found the root cause of the issue. I had put the machine on our
school's domain which has a WSUS policy. It turns out that it was causing
problems with Vista's Windows Update control panel since Automatic Updates
and Windows Updates must be unified in Vista.

Once the Vista test boxes on my team were excluded from the WSUS policy it
worked fine. Thanks for your help in trying to troubleshoot it.

I have the same problem. We have a WSUS policy for the entire domain on a
Windows 2003 Server. How could I exclude my computer from that policy? The
policy works on the entire domain and I couldn't find the way to exculde a
single computer from the policy.
