I need to download Office 2003 Service Pack but I am a dialup user and it
will take over 5 1/2 hrs to complete. Am I still able to work on my computer
while it is downloading or do I need to schedule a time to be away and
download it?

There's no reason not to do whatever you like while the download is
underway.

Your computer should have no trouble managing that download while you
do other things. I expect that your main problem will be keeping that
dial-up connection going for five hours without glitching somewhere.

This page:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/FX010383631033.aspx shows
CDs of MS service packs. It says that Office 2003 SP3 is not yet
available on CD, but will be "soon". What they mean by "soon'" is not
explained.

You might want to use a download manager.
Free Download Manager works well and the price is right! :)
