windows update and winxp shutdown patch

i am trying to download the windows patch to resolve the winxp shutdown
issue (pc hangs on shutdown) several sites tell me to go to windows update
page and hit 'personalize windows update' to add 'view windows update
catalog' so i can pick the patch I need. but i see no such 'personalize
windows update' option. so can anyone tell me

how to personalize the update page so i can get the patch

B
point me directly to the patch that will resolve my shutdown issue?

What's the KB #.

Each patch has a knowledge base article number. What is the number for
the patch? Knowing that is the easy way to find it. Otherwise I have
no idea what patch you're talking about.
