Windows unsucessful start up

I have a message that states Windows did not start succesfully. I have
options that include safe mode, start windows from last known operation. When
I choose to start windows normally, the computer locks up. Do I need to
reformat or is there a way to bypass this and go to Windows. Thanks..........

Have you tried 'Last Known Good Configuration' and a System Restore via Safe
Mode?

Yes. Everytime option I go in, it will start loading then the loading bar at
the bottom goes solid white and it locks up.

Hi

If none of those options give you access to Windows you will need to try a
'Repair' install of XP. Please have a look at the following article by
