I work at the IT Dept of a university,
and I currently waste a lot of time uninstalling MSN
Explorer and Windows Messenger(not to mention setting up
proxy settings and the like when we install).
I recently heard about the unattended setup feature, and
was wondering if there is a way I can tell Windows not to
install MSN Explorer or Windows Messenger. I would also be
interested in any other options I can set at that time.
Thank you very much

http://unattended.msfn.org
and
http://unattended.sourceforge.net
and
http://www.appdeploy.com
and
http://www.winguides.com/registry/

Look over those web pages, make unattended.txt/winnt.sif files, incorporate
most patches before the first GUI boot, automatically install most
applications, tweak the system with registry settings and files. Make it
look like you want and install with minimal input from the user side. Start
it and walk away for 45 minutes to two hours and come back with a fully
functional, ready to distribute to the end-user system!

free.

There are also other options with imaging software (Ghost, etc) and RIS
setups.
