Hi Everyone,

I have a question about Windows Time. I have two applications that are
giving the incorrect time. One is a mail client (Eudora their latest
version) and I have another program that sets its time by the local time of
the computer. Eudora it shows up when sending or checking mail (shows times
off by 5 hours). The other program tries to schedule something but it is off
by 5 hours also. The local computer has the correct time (viewing it in the
windows taskbar) and even if I check with w32tm everything is again correct.
The timezone is also correct. The two applications are suppose to set their
times from the local computers time. Is there anywhere else that time needs
to be corrected?

Thanks, in advance,

Ross

It's possible that your bios time is incorrect. Tap the delete button on
startup until you get to a (usually) blue screen. Then just look around for
the time and date setting in there. It is possible that this time is
different from your windows time, if you manually set your windows time after
you ran the computer for the first time. (If delete does not work, just read
the screen during start up and look for something that says "Press <a key>
for setup" or something along thoes lines. 95% of the time its delete, but
some computers are different than others.

Assuming Windows is set for the correct time and time zone...

Look to your individual applications to fix this.

Mail, in particular, always includes GMT in the headers. It must know the
local time zone and be configured to correctly use it. You never talk about
your other application, but it may have the same issues.

The Eudora program I have serveral other people using the same settings
without problems. I tried to uninstall then reinstall the program to see if
it would fix it without luck. The other program is a program that is not
used by others, it deals with settings for voicemail -- configures it. That
program when you attempt to set the time, it starts with a time that is 5
hours ahead -- suppose to start at current local time --- Also when you
schedule for the application to do something it is ahead of time when it
starts. I have also checked with the vender of this program they state that
it should just go off of the local pc time.
