Windows text in strange format

When a client computer was booted this morning, all of the text for windows
was in a webdings or simular font. All boxes and strange shapes instead of
letters. This is for everything on the start menu, all icon descriptions,
and all program menu items etc. However, hen I open a word document, the
text that SHOULD be english is.

I tried virus scans, adware scans, checked to make sure the Regional setting
was English.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

go to
control panel
display
appearance
set the windows and buttons to windows xp style

if this does not fix it then you will need the advanced button and change
the font for individual items

Unfortunitally Patrick it does not seem as if my problem is that simple. I
tried all font and theme adjustments first thing.

Thanks for the reply. This seems more like a virus, but yet my virus scan
software does not pick anything up.

Anyone else?
