WINDOWS TASK MANAGER - PROCESSES

Hi, in the "processes" of the task manager, there seem to be suspicious
programs running. The list is always expanding etc.

My status timer always seem to be loading something etc. it keeps on
flashing. I have run spyware and adware programs, but still that had not
solved the issue.

I click on some of these processes and end them etc, but when the computer
restarts, they seem to appear again. How do i completly remove these
processes from my computer.

1) There's no reason for programmers to give easily recognizable names to
all the processes which run behind the scenes in Windows. It would be nice
if they did, but don't hold your breath. Therefore, it's not surprising that
some of them are suspicious looking.

2) You mentioned spyware and adware programs, but not antivirus software. Do
you own one that updates itself regularly? If so, when is the last time you
ran a full system scan? It's unlikely that a virus is at work here, but I'm
just asking.

3) http://experts.about.com/q/3282/3575573.htm That's a link to a question
just like yours. In the response, another link takes you to a resource that
can help identify processes.

4) If you want to see a bare-bones list of what really needs to be there,
start the machine in safe mode and then check the list.

Although if you see an executable with a randomly generated name (e.g.
ygthqpr.exe) then no research is required - you can be 110% certain that's a
trojan and/or spyware.
