Does anyone out there in the big WWW that knows if the arrangement of
buttons can be changed on the task bar?

For example,
Say i have email, word, excel buttons along the task bar in that order.
Can i change the order without having to close the applications and
reload them ?

Tim.

So you are not talking about the Quick Launch toolbar.
You are talking about the Taskbar with Open, running applications.

You can't do this with native WIndows functions, but there are several
freeware third-party apps that will do this, such as Taskbar Organizer at

Dynamically re-arranging the items in the Taskbar (open application windows)
is not possible natively. However, there are third-party tools that may help
you accomplish the task.

Well the program I'm thinking of wasn't made for this primary prupose,
but it accomplishes it all the same: Iconic Tray (iconictray.com). It
was made to minimize apps to the systray instead of the taskbar. But a
side effect is when you restore an app from the tray, it's taskbar
button moves to end, as if it had just been opened. I've used to
rearrange taskbar buttons myself. It is shareware, but has a cheap
price of $15, and you can reinstall it every 15 days without a problem
if you dont feel like paying.
