cant get it to boot from cd
is there anything i can do to fix this
or does it need trip to the shop

In order to get your computer to boot from a CD you have to go into the Bios
and set the cdrom drive as first boot device.
You can attempt to fix the problem using the Recovery Console. Here is
some info on that. Or, you can do a Repair Install.
