windows starts with no destop items or any menu

hello everyone,
i'm using win xp + sp2 and i have installed the .net framework 1.1 on it.
while starting windows i get to choose the user to log on with (the only one
is the admin.), and when i click on it windows starts, but shows only the
green field picture with no items on it or any menu at the bottom. the only
thing i can do in this state is logoff using the task manager (ctrl+alt+del)
and reenter with the same user- in this second time windows starts normally
and all items are shown.
i've tried scanning for viruses and spywares (nod32+ad aware+windows
defender), but the system is clean.
please help.
 
I've seen this happen

I've had to run the command explorer (explorer.exe) from the command line in
Task Manager.

You might want to run your spyware detection programs in Safe Mode
