windows start up task bar problem

my task bar on the desk top has gone from bottom to the side dont ask me how
but i cant get it back can any one help i have win xp pro sp2 i have rigt
clicked on it and tried to move it manually but its stuck fast

When you right click on it make sure there isn't a check mark
next to "Lock the Taskbar". If there is left click on that line
to unlock it. As for moving it, click and hold down the left
mouse button and drag it back to the bottom of your screen.

My task bar is stuck on the left side of my desktop. I can expand it but I
cannot move it to the bottom. The "lock the task bar" is unchecked. I have
tried everything and still can't move it back to the bottom. Some time ago it
was stuck on the top & I could not move it back to the bottom, then recently
it just mysteriously showed up on the side. any suggestions? I have windows
EP Home Edition.
