Hello,

You can use the Hibernate feature to make Windows start up faster.

At the shut down screen (where you are presented with 3 buttons), hold
SHIFT, and the Stand By button should turn into Hibernate. Click it and
Windows will save its state to hard disk and shut down.

The next time you boot up, it should be faster (unless your RAM is really a
lot - very unlikely),

Go to the text file c:\boot.ini. Edit the timeout= line.

Rather than get rid of the countdown entirely, I recommend changing it to
2-3 seconds to give you time to select another choice if you want to.
