Windows shuts down when trying to restart

Ive read alot of post about xp restarting when trying to shut down, but mine
is shutting down when trying to restart. It does restart but the entire
computer shuts down before it turns back on. really not healthy for the
comp...

And how would it restart without shutting down?

When you restart xp by using the restart windows option it does not power down the entire computer, it restarts it without powering completely down. Mine has recently started powering completely down before restarting itself
