My computer is taking forever to shutdown and everytime I shut down it seems
there are files that do not close and it says end program now or cancel. I
click end program now and another box comes up with a different file name or
program. It takes a while do shutdown. What is causing this and how can I
solve it? I never had problems shutting down my computer before.

You may wish to download and install the "uphclean" utility that forces the
"user hive" aka "user profile" to be saved/unloaded during shutdown - which
causes any program using it to be shutdown immediately during shutdown.

Bet you have lots of programs set to run 24/7. Chances are that's its'
one of them causing the niggle.

Admiral Q: I will try your suggestion and will let you know tomorrow it it
worked.
