When I reboot windows XP and the desktop loads up gaian, my previous
settings have not been saved. I have the classic setting with other
things set how I want them, but upon reboot all is reverted back to the
WinXP settings.

This is since a recent re install, and I never had this before.
Any ideas as to a fix?
Thanks

Recreate the local profile:

If you are logging in as "Bob" on the machine, log in as a different user
such as administrator. Goto your C drive in your my computer and locate the
folder called documents and settings. Inside there, you will see a folder for
each user of the PC. Rename the one which corresponds to the user account
having the problem. Rename it by changing the name from bob to bob.old. Log
off as Administrator and log in as BOB. This will recreate your local profile
on the machine. Make your changes and reboot.

If that works for you, you will need to copy your favorites and my
documents, etc to your new profile from the bob.old folder.

If the settings still don't stay, log off and back in as administrator and
delete the BOB folder. Then rename the profile folder from bob.old back to
BOB and reboot and log back in as BOB.
