Windows Server 2003 Test Installation

As I have posted previously, I'm a volunteer admin on a Windows Server 2003
standard installation. I'm thinking it would be helpful for me to build a test
server at home for experimentation. Did Microsoft release a 120 or 180 trial for
2003? I have the one for 2000, and I thought I had one for 2003, but I am unable
to put my hands on it.

If such a package were released, is it possible to download it from somewhere?
Microsoft would have distributed them freely, and they are time-limited, so
there is not copyright problem.

I thought about subscribing to Microsoft's annual software plan for techs (the
name escapes me at the moment), but that's pretty hard to cost justify on a
volunteer basis.

Any alternative suggestions are appreciated, too.

Sorry, there is no trial version of Windows Server 2003 available.

First off, if you haven't done so already, you might want to post this question
to a newsgroup dealing with Windows Server operating systems. That said, you
might want to take a look at this web site.

Windows Server 2003 R2 with SP2: How to Get Trial Software
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsserver/bb430831.aspx

The CD is for a 180 day trial. You have to register to receive it.

You can download a 30 day trial version in a .vhd file which can be run in
Microsoft's Virtual PC 2007.

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition VHD

Good luck

You're absolutely correct. My news reader abbreviates the newsgroup names.
Sometimes one looks a lot like another, when I'm posting in a hurry.
