Windows sees new PCI device

I have built a new pc everthing was fine for a few weeks and then I started
to get a message that Windows has detected a new PCI device. The only card I
have installed is a PCI-E vid card. It has become bothersome, everytime I
boot up it notifies it has detected a new device yet nothing has been
installed and want to try and install it. Any ideas on how to stop this
ongoing nonsense?

Rt click MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>View>Show
Hidden Devices. You might see a
yellow mark next to one of the devices there. May not. If yes, you need
to install the drivers for it.

Why would it take 2 weeks for that to show up?

Use the "Devices:pCI" function of Everest, and see if you can get some
info, like Vendor/Device numbers. Maybe a piece of hardware is malfunctioning.
I had a sound card, where one of the PCI bus lines was making bad contact,
and the enumeration info would change when the bus line wasn't making
connections. So have a look through the list and see if there is anything
strange that has been added, while something else that is supposed to be
there, is missing.

Thanks for the replies guys. I looked in Device manager and tried to update
the driver from the web but had no luck. My only PCI device is a SB sound
card but it shows up as working properly in Device manager. Well I am going
to try and resolve this.... wish me luck.
