Windows Security Alert

C

C and A Bredt

Using Vista Home Premium and Internet Explorer 7. When on the internet, I'm
getting a popup titled "Windows Security Alert." It says my computer is
infected with:

Admess.trojan
zserv.Transponder.Trojan
and others.

It wants me to download a remover from promalwarescannerv2.com.

I'm running McAfee Total Protection, but when I do a system scan it says all
is OK.

I did a system restore, but it comes back later.
What's going on? CB

Turn off Windows Restore, scan.
If that doesn't work - reformat.

It's a scam/hoax. They either want you to download a
virus/trojan/malware or they want you to pay for a worthless program
9and steal your identity).

Ignore it... You may want to turn off the Windows Messenger service....

Huh?????? That's nuts!!!! The OP almost certainly doesn't have a virus.
Your recommendation is somewhat like removing the head to stop a
headache... :-(

Hello

Do you see these popup every time browsing the web?.
If yes, you are probably infected with malware (ex. browser hijacker).

I like seeing those ads made to look like a Windows XP error - when I'm
using the Mac.

Start Internet Explorer in Safe Mode. See if the pop-up returns. If it is
gone, it is a Spyware Add-Onn wich you can easily disable/delete.
