Windows Search fuction doesn't work

Windows XP Home freezes anytime I try to use the search feature, access
control panels, or use my computer/explore. All application programs work
fine and Microsoft Antispy doesn't find any problems.

Thanks for your help.
 
Try disabling Microsoft antispy. You should be able to right
click on the icon in the notification area and shut it down
temporarily. See if this stops these issues.

Right after I installed MSAS on an XP Pro machine, Search stopped
functioning properly. As soon as I uninstalled it, everything was
back to normal.
