windows repair disc

i am doing the repair. when i come to the -choose which (C:/ options) my
screen is cut off and i cant see what to type in. what are the options
 
What does cut off mean?
Please list exactly what steps your taking, don't just say something so
general as I am doing the repair, that means nothing.
did you boot from the xp cd?
